Bringing The Pink Light Home

A journal of travel, inspiration & the art of coming home

Portugal gave me something I had not expected: a new way of seeing. I went looking for inspiration and
found it in the gardens, the patterned tiles, the faded walls, the ribbons and fabrics, and the extraordinary
pink light that seemed to follow me through the streets.
I walked for miles over cobblestones, visited gardens, and gathered little treasures along the way. Every
corner offered another color combination, another texture, another idea waiting to become art.
The Gift of Unplanned Time
During my second week, plans with a group fell through. Suddenly I was on my own in a country where I
knew no one and did not speak the language. It was an unexpected turn, but I decided to make something
beautiful of the time.
I gave myself a simple artist’s routine. Before coffee each morning, I made little drawings inspired by the
wallpaper in my hotel. I collected scraps of fabric, crystal, embroidery and ribbon. At dinner, I sketched.
Back in my room, I turned a desk into a tiny studio for watercolor and collage.

From Sketchbook To Studio
I began to see how all those discoveries belonged together: the softness of pale pink, the confidence of
bright fuchsia, the richness of burgundy, and the unexpected sparkle of gold. They felt feminine and
strong at the same time—romantic, joyful, and full of life.

Coming Home Is The Heart Of It
I loved Portugal, but coming home meant so much to me. After time away, I felt an even deeper
appreciation for the people we love, the places we gather, and the rituals that make the holidays feel
special.
That feeling became the heart of my Pink Light Collection. I wanted to bring the color and energy of the
journey into everyday celebrations—not just as artwork on a wall, but as thoughtful details that could be
shared, wrapped, hung on a tree or placed on a table.

From original artwork to an artful home.

An Artful Holiday, Filled With Light
The collection grew into hand-painted ornaments, gift bags, wrapping paper, ribbon and more. Each
piece carries something of my journey: a garden color, a painterly flourish, a little sparkle, or the delight
of combining patterns in unexpected ways.

A one-of-a-kind hand-painted ornament, made to be treasured.

Ribbon makes even the simplest gift feel like a celebration.
A Little Pink Light To Share
For me, Pink Light is more than a color. It is a feeling of strength and femininity, peace and love, and the
choice to welcome a fresh, uplifting perspective. This holiday season, I am holding on to that energy—and
hoping to pass a little of it along.

May the collection’s bags, ribbons, ornaments and artful treasures bring Pink Light into your holiday gift
giving and celebrations!
